DP-278, BNSF Belen Railyard: BNSF Railway Company proposes to renew the Discharge Permit for the discharge of up to 8,992 gallons per day of industrial process wastewater to oil-water separators then to evaporative impoundments or off-site disposal. Potential contaminants from this type of discharge include organic compounds, BTEX, manganese, and lead. The facility is located at 106 North First Street, Belen, in Section 18, Township 05 North, Range 02 East, Valencia County. Groundwater most likely to be affected is at a depth of approximately 4-6 feet and had a pre-discharge total dissolved solids concentration of 560 milligrams per liter.
