Public Meeting, San Juan Generating Station Groundwater Investigation Public Comment & Questions

The New Mexico Environment Department is hosting an open house and community meeting on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, to discuss the ongoing environmental assessment of the Public Service Company of New Mexico’s San Juan Generating Station near Waterflow, New Mexico.

 

The department will share data collected during its recent groundwater investigation, which will inform a future remediation plan guided by House Bill 142, signed into law by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in 2023.

 

WHAT: Public meeting and open house to provide updates on NMED’s San Juan Generating Station groundwater investigation

WHEN: Oct. 7, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Lower Valley Senior Center, 17 County Road 6668, Fruitland, New Mexico 87416

 

Members of the public can also attend the meeting through the WebEx virtual platform. The link to the platform, including details for joining by telephone, can be found on the NMED Calendar.


If community members cannot attend the meeting, they can submit comments or questions through the text box below. This public comment page will remain open until 11:59pm (MT), Friday, October 31, 2025.
