DP-1170, NASA White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) 400 Area Small Altitude Simulation System proposes to renew the Discharge Permit for the discharge of up to 16,805 gallons per day of industrial wastewater to a treatment and disposal system. Potential contaminants from this type of discharge include chloride, nitrogen compounds and total dissolved solids. The facility is located at 12600 NASA Road, approximately 12 miles east of Las Cruces, in Section 35, Township 20 South, Range 03 East, Doña Ana County. Groundwater most likely to be affected is at a depth of approximately 139 feet and had a pre-discharge total dissolved solids concentration of 700 milligrams per liter.
