But I was wrong, there are in fact a lot of people that are willing to take the risk. This project is a perfect example of this. Everyone (should) knows by now how serious the environmental issues and impact matter to not just one country or two, but everyone equally. If you let this project happen, you will not just be harming Mexico, but the world around you as well. The ecosystem of our planet is so very delicate, so complex and beautiful...please don't disrupt it. I urge you to not let this happen. Any way of pollution should be avoided at all costs, and no matter how many people will gain jobs or/and money with this, it's not worth the risk of Mother Earth finally giving out. There is no second chance, we only have now. Once the limit is reached, there is no going back. Money won't save you, neither will power. Give these people a chance to review. Let them comment on it, let them decide what happens by their land. Specially with all the illegal waste this company has dumped, it should certainly be taking into consideration when approving and discussing the project. I beg of you to not just think about yourself. Yes, the selfish live longer. But will it be worth sticking around with nothing left? All are equal, and everyone should have a voice. Firstly, I would like to mention the Climate Clock. The Climate Clock is represents an estimation of how quickly the planet is approaching 1.5°C of global warming. These estimations are based on different sets of data and calculations. The reason why I am mentioning this is because it has estimated 2029 as the year of which the planet will reach the 1.5°C of global warming. That is in three years. This is not just an estimation; it is a countdown of how much time we have left before the planet possibly collapses. Trees, animals, even large populations of civilisation are at risk here. According to Yahoo! News, Training GPT-3 has emitted 500 metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Compared to this, Project Jupiter is estimated to have about 14 million tons of greenhouse gas emission. That is 28000 times more than Training GPT-3. If Project Jupiter is successful, how many years on the Climate Clock would we have left? Two? One? Less than one? As a young student, I understand that my words may have little to no effect on such large events. However, I wish to grow up, and I wish to have a future. I understand that this comment may not reach any place further than a few eyes of others, but I can do nothing but try to fight for the survival of our planet Earth. I apologise for my inabilities to articulate my proper emotions, but I do not want my home and my future happiness to be taken away from me without choice. Project Jupiter will most definitely be more than just a harmful inconvenience, but also a threat to Earth's survival.

I want to continue raising my children here knowing they have a safe and secure...↓ future. That future is under threat with this proposed air quality permit. A change to fuel cells has minimal impacts on the suffering we will endure as a result of the gas plant's air pollution. To add 10 million tons of carbon dioxide pollution and a vague estimate of toxic emissions to our active and long-time nonattainment zone would be nothing short of blatant environmental racism. Our metro area is currently 16th worst in the nation for ozone pollution and we have received a failing grade on this air quality standard every single year since 2000. We are already breathing some of the most compromised air in the country. It is unacceptable to invite a new source of hyperscale air pollution into our communities. The carbon dioxide pollution alone will heat our atmosphere at a much faster pace and promote the formation of even more ground-level ozone. Last summer, my 7 year old suffered a grand mal seizure while on the playground at school because the extreme heat led to electrolyte imbalances. My brother works outside everyday without shade or rest breaks and has nowhere to keep his insulin cool. I can barely pay my electricity bills in the summer as it is. We cannot afford more intense heat. The other toxic air pollutants are extremely dangerous–many of them at very low levels. It also will not re-capture the volatile chemicals that are released into the air when hazardous waste is improperly stored and disposed of.

My family's health and safety should be worth more than the profits of out-of-state corporations. The only defensible options moving forward are to deny this air permit or you must hold a public hearing in-person in Santa Teresa with a component for virtual participation. Materials and the hearing itself must be translated into Spanish and meet any other accessibility needs requested by community members.
