DP-1651, Banner Mill: Ravi Sood, Chief Executive Officer, Summit Gold Corporation, proposes to renew the Discharge Permit for the discharge of up to 246,000 gallons per day of mill tailing slurry to a high-density polyethylene lined tailing impoundment. Potential contaminants from this type of discharge include total dissolved solids, sulfate, and metals. The facility is located at 1219 Banner Mine Rd, approximately 4.5 miles southwest of Lordsburg, in Sections 14 and 23, Township 23 South, Range 19 West, Hidalgo County. Groundwater beneath the site is at a depth of approximately 709 feet and had a pre-discharge total dissolved solids concentration of approximately 1,800 milligrams per liter.
