DP-1634: CEHMM proposes to renew the Discharge Permit for the discharge of up to 1,000,000 gallons per year of nutrient enriched fresh water to a system of synthetically lined algae propagation ponds. Potential contaminants from this type of discharge include nitrogen compounds. The facility is located at 157 N Lake Road, approximately 6 miles south of Artesia, in Section 16, T18S, R26E, Eddy County. Groundwater most likely to be affected is at a depth of approximately 54 feet and had a pre-discharge total dissolved solids concentration of 2,950 milligrams per liter.
