Notice is hereby given pursuant to the New Mexico Water Quality Act that a remediation work plan for a Neglected Contamination Site has been proposed by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) for a property located at 736 N. 5th Street in Bloomfield, New Mexico 87413. The work plan proposes actions to remediate contamination in soil and groundwater. Potential contaminants include petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds, and metals in soil and groundwater beneath the site. The proposed remediation work plan is attached to this notice below. To request more information, call NMED Ground Water Quality Bureau (GWQB) in Santa Fe at 505-827-2900.
Prior to implementation of the work plan, NMED will allow until March 4, 2026 to receive written comments and during which time a public meeting may be requested by any interested person. Requests for public meeting shall be in writing and shall set forth the reasons why the meeting should be held. A meeting will be held if NMED determines that there is significant public interest.
