Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility Groundwater Discharge Permit
DP-1472, Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility: US Bureau of Reclamation proposes to renew and modify the Discharge Permit for the discharge of up to 107,000 gallons per day of industrial wastewater to a treatment and disposal system. Potential contaminants from this type of discharge include total dissolved solids, metals, and perfluorinated chemicals. The facility is located at 500 LaVelle Road, Alamogordo, Otero County. Groundwater most likely to be affected is at a depth of approximately 67 feet and had a pre-discharge total dissolved solids concentration of 4,200 milligrams per liter.
